The Pre66 Forum has unfortunately stopped. This was also unavoidable, there was too little enthusiasm. Lack of fame?

The Vintage Chevrolet Club of America also has an active forum section for our 1940s models. The same applies here as for ChevyTalk, it concerns the same models with many interchangeable things.

Joe Bortz donated this GM Futurliner to the National Auto & Truck Museum in Auburn Indiana. An ambitious team of volunteers restored this bus in seven years (1999-2006). The restoration was conducted under the direction of retired GM Factory Manager Don Mayton.

The FE Engine Tech forum contains a lot of info about these engines. It's just not an active forum anymore. It can still be used as an archive.

The American POCI (Pontiac Oakland Club International) has a special department for the early Pontiacs. It's called The Early Times Chapter. Just take a look!

The Antique Automobile Club of America has a separate forum section for Pontiac Flathead owners. It is not very active there, but there is specific information to be found.

This extensive site for the advanced hobbyist tells you everything about Ford technology, from maintenance to overhaul. Through this site I have read everything that is needed for the overhaul of my FE 390 engine.

Okay, it's not about Pontiacs. But let's be honest, there isn't much info on forums. Since the A- and B-body models were also supplied with the other GM divisions, a lot of information about the Chevrolet models also applies to our Pontiacs.

Joe Bortz is a collector and savior of concept cars from the past. He has found and restored many lost concepts so that we can all enjoy these wonders again.

The Cadill-Ikes chapter of the American Cadillac & LaSalle Club. They have focused on the Ike years 1954-1956. You must be a member of the Cadillac & LaSalle Club to do this. If you are not, then you are sentenced to the less specific 1949-1960 forum.

This site has all the info about the FE engines and upgrades as well as an active forum.

An old-fashioned forum in terms of layout and software, uncomfortable to read but fairly active

parts etc.

The first experience is that they have everything at reasonable prices.  Communication via email is very slow. Email me for info. POCI (USA Pontiac Club) reports that it is a reliable partner. Have already placed many orders. Communication is slow in all cases, but it works. Service is very good. Errors were solved super and the quality of the stuff is also good. They simply buy from other companies and are a kind of portal for the Pontiac owners. You do not have to look for all kinds of companies that may be able to supply the part you are looking for.

Kanter.png

I have ordered items from here several times in the past. Easily accessible by phone and certainly helpful. Quality varies. A lot of stuff comes from China, but is probably still better than the original from 60 years ago. On the other hand, what else is coming out of the USA?

Chevs of the 40's has a huge inventory and can supply just about anything. They have focused on cars as well as pick-ups and trucks.

My first orders are  done at Chevs of the 40's.  er  are of course simply interchangeable parts. I have a book with part numbers that may be interchangeable, an interchange manual. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them. Communication is quick via email.  The items are as desired and of good quality.

Huge selection of everything, just for Chevrolet and GMC, but a lot of stuff is interchangeable.  er  are of course simply interchangeable parts. I have a book with part numbers that may be interchangeable, an interchange manual. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them. Communication is quick via email.  The items are as desired and of good quality.

Fatsco has been supplying new and NOS parts for transmissions since 1956. There is also a lot to get for the Hydra-matic. Fortunately, the bin is not rare and there is a lot to get. Prices are very decent.

At Fatsco I ordered parts for the Hydra-matic. I have received information both through eBay and directly. Fast and clear communication. All very pleasant. They have different sets, from basic to deluxe. On a second delivery of gaskets, one gasket was torn. No problem at Fatsco. A new one was sent immediately. So service is okay!

Through the Pre66 forum I came across Henri Reuvers. He was recommended. He is a man with a lot of knowledge and, above all, a lot of interest in all forms of technology. He knew the Hydra-matic buckets and asked if it was a single or dual drive as one of the few. He thinks along with you and if he feels that you find it interesting, he also explains everything. He runs his company 'Special Gear' in Tiel.

I have ordered many parts for the Ford FE 390 here. Order went through  unfortunately not very smooth. What is in stock when ordering turns out not to be later. It is not possible to adjust the order because you have already paid. If you want to let something expire, they have to do everything  credit after which you have to place the entire order again. I had to do that 3 times in total. I have had other articles replaced by an equivalent. Very user-unfriendly. Communication went off  on the other hand, smoothly, quickly and clearly. Products are good as are most prices. It is wise to compare. Summit also has a lot.

Jambroes is a parts supplier in the Netherlands. They have been targeting for a quarter of a century  on providing everything you could possibly need. There is a lot in stock but they are running out. The owner is elderly and there is no takeover candidate.

Since 1997 I have been working at Jambroes  ordered a lot. From carpeting to brake parts, steering pump to gaskets and more. Easily accessible by phone and generally helpful. If you can't find it at the other suppliers in the Netherlands, chances are that Jambroes has it, often from stock, where else can you get a water pump for a 1948 Pontiac within 1 day?

TH-Poedercoaten-logo-300x222.jpg

TH Poedercoaten in Arnhem is a company that does a great job if you need to have something powder coated. Rims, frames etc. In the most fantastic colors.

I had them powder coated a number of large and small parts. All things that are under the hood and now lay loose. Later I had 4 more rims blasted and coated, that also went well and the quality is still good after a few years. Unfortunately, they no longer coat individual parts.

Egge is the only North American company that still makes pistons and valves. They supply complete engine overhaul sets. Gaskets, oil pump sets etc. They also supply Iskanderian camshafts and other speed parts.

I ordered a complete engine overhaul kit for the Pontiac from Egge. Through the site you can choose the set for your car and then leave out things you don't need. Communication is not great, but it works. Did everything via email and everything was correct when the box came here. Returning parts and crediting the amount went without any problems and was arranged quickly.

Father Gerard and son Bas and their staff are the people at this company. They are a friendly cheerful couple with a lot of technical knowledge. Not just from the newer stuff, but also from the old stuff. If you have problems with your motorcycle, you can certainly come to the right place! During my project I also visited several times. Van der Linden Motorentechniek is located in Didam. Aftercare is also well taken care of and carried out!

Pirtek is a company specialized in hydraulic hoses and couplings. They have helped me excellently with a fuel hose with new pressed couplings and a hose for the heater. On Saturday I also visited one of the employees who had visited the breakdown service to solve something small. Everything went smooth and simple. I have also made use of their expertise several times in the past.

I have also ordered many parts for my FE 390 from Summit. Ordering is smooth and stocks are correct. Prices are decent. If you order a lot in one go, they are on average cheaper than Jegs or via eBay, but with small orders you should always keep comparing.

For many small things it is sometimes a matter of looking for the right places. You will not find 6 Volt lights anywhere, except at a company specialized in VW Beetles. At the Brezan and things like that they look at you with pity....  A new 6v flashing light relay is therefore also available from the Beetle Shop 'Hot Rod Doesburg'. I got other lights from an Army Dump in Drempt. These are also often found in army vehicles. I eventually bought thick jumper cables and eyes in the form of welding cable from a tractor supplier.

Barry Rabotnick is an authority on Ford FE engines. He runs his own company that sells all kinds of performance parts for the Ford FE engines. The website is very messy and old fashioned but eventually you will find what you are looking for. However, they can add some more information such as sizes and photos with the articles. However, if you ask questions via email, you will receive a quick and clear answer. Barry also answers many questions on the Ford FE forum. Active Guy!

RockAuto-Logo.jpg

RockAuto has parts in all price ranges and is always the cheapest solution for standard parts. You can easily search and order. If you choose the faster DHL or Fedex service, you will receive the items within 2 to 3 days! The most expensive option is really not necessary. For really specific things you have to look further but the offer is on  standard-  and wear parts is huge. Be careful when ordering that your items do not have to come from multiple warehouses, which makes shipping extra expensive. Then choose another brand.

vulka.png

Dronk in Bemmel (on the industrial estate in Huissen) was the right place for me to replace the brake linings of the Cadillac. Fast and not too expensive, although through Rockauto you don't have 2 but 4 new shoes for that money.

Since Gerritsen in Velp stopped his company, Hartgers in Zutphen has been a good alternative for checking and possibly replacing your radiator. Unfortunately, I experienced twice that there was a leak at the collar where the water hose must be. If you know that, he can check extra for it. Been a long time ago (2002) and now I have become a customer again. There are few alternatives in the area.

R&D Usa Classics is a young company that works from Massachusetts, USA and from there brings classic cars to the Netherlands. The Dutch partner is located in Garderen. I have the pleasure of being able to buy stuff in America through them that will then come with me to the Netherlands. All this for a very reasonable fee. I got to see some of their cars and price and quality are just right. So if you are looking for something! Contact Mark Duggan or Marcel Roos (see website or facebook)

Ruben de Jong is the owner of this beautiful company. Too bad I didn't get to know him sooner. I came into contact with him because he had a 1956 Cadillac for sale. He turns out to run a well-equipped garage and has a lot of knowledge about classic USA cars. He was therefore allowed to perform a turn on the Pontiac where things came to light that I had not noticed. The Cadillac has also been there before. Recommended! He has already supplied and overhauled many things for me. Just send it and ready-made return.

EPS has been the exhaust specialist in the far north for many years. In 1998 I had already ordered an exhaust for my 1960 Cadillac, now it was the Pontiac's turn. The exhaust is completely handmade and you can watch and talk about your new system. And are you coming on Saturday? Then you just eat fries!

In addition to all kinds of small items for your GM product, such as tags and decals, you can also order all kinds of technical parts, exhausts, mirrors, sheet metal, vinyl roofs and more for the sportier GM products.

van-thiel-motorenrevisie.png

You can contact the Van Thiel Company for the overhaul of your engine. I have here  have the Ford engine drilled, honed, cleaned etc. The heads are adapted for LPG with hard seats, new valves fitted and the rotating part is balanced by a company they work with.

Fusicklogo small.jpg

Fusick supplies a lot of stuff for Oldsmobiles but has also focused on Buick and Cadillac. Prices are very competitive and communication is smooth. If there is overlap with Pontiac models, there are also supplies for that.

dale.png

For more than 30 years they have specialized in all USA brands and in particular the Ford Mustang. There is a stock of common items, but the rest must be ordered in the States. If you want to be able to consult properly, you must have Alex Voorend. Communication is not really smooth and make sure that you also get what you ordered. Modern communication via e-mail is better not done, calling or visiting is better and prevents discussions.

Lehmann.png

Through TH Parts I came into contact with Tom Lehmann. He is a Mini specialist but has also invested in a machine to be able to water jet parts. You can't get paint off with it, but carburettors, gearboxes etcetera  get you back as new!

caddy1(2).jpg

Caddy Reproductions supplies many special  parts for the 40s to 60s Cadillacs. They are not really affordable, but better expensive than not for sale.

Sheet metal worker, painter and trader. Vincent is at home in all these markets. Repairing damage and spraying is what he mainly does, but he also trades in company cars. In the past he sprayed one of our cars, provided our caravan with a nice new coat of paint and removed the dent from the Ford. Are you looking for a man who knows what he is doing then you can contact him!

caddydaddy.png

Caddy Daddy has been supplying parts for Cadillacs for over 35 years. I've known them for 20 years too. Especially as an expensive supplier of separate items. I still order from them regularly. They have a huge stock and luckily have moved with the times. It used to be Word documents with parts, now just a webshop.

wrphet.png

Aanrader!
